GR6 / GTR - TCM DATA LOGGING VIDEOS

Data logging your TCM is a powerful tool which allows us to diagnose problems with your R35 GR6 transmission.  If you are using COBB or ECUtek, you have the power to log TCM and find an issue without the need to open the trans for diagnosis.  Below are a few videos to teach you how to take logs, read them, and have a better understanding as to what is going on.

PART 1.  How to properly data log your TCM:

PART 2.  How to read line and clutch pressures:

PART 3.  How to read main valve body shifting positions:

ECUtek is simple, just get the TCM ROM file for your car from you tuner and ECUtek already logs all parameters.

COBB is a little more complicated as you have to select the data parameters below when you log to assure we have all of the data we need:

  • 1. 1-R Position Sensor 1 – (mV) - Sensor Voltage Measurement
  • 2. 1-R Position Sensor 2 – (mV) - Sensor Voltage Measurement
  • 3. 2-4 Position Sensor - (mV) - Sensor Voltage Measurement
  • 4. 3-5 Position Sensor - (mV) - Sensor Voltage Measurement
  • 5. 6-N Position Sensor - (mV) - Sensor Voltage Measurement
  • 10. Axis A Pressure Target – (bar) - Axis A feed pressure target
  • 11. Axis B Pressure Target – (bar) - Axis A feed pressure target
  • 16. Clutch A Pressure – (bar) - Actual pressure applied to clutch A
  • 18. Clutch A Pressure Target – (bar) - Clutch A pressure target
  • 20. Clutch A Slip - RPM - Clutch slip as measured
  • 29. Clutch B Pressure - (bar) - Actual pressure applied to clutch B
  • 31. Clutch B Pressure Target - (bar) - Clutch B pressure target
  • 33. Clutch B Slip - (RPM) - Clutch slip as measured
  • 43. Comm Axis A S/V – (%) - Axis A feed pressure solenoid valve
  • 44. Comm Axis B S/V - (%) - Axis B feed pressure solenoid valve
  • 55. Engine RPM 02 - RPM - Matches engine rpm
  • 66. Line Pressure - (bar) - Transmission line pressure
  • 68. Line Pressure Target - (bar) - Target transmission line pressure
  • 97. Torque Available - (Nm) - Engine Torque Available (calculated)
  • 98. Torque Demanded - (Nm) - Engine Torque Requested
  • 101. Torque Supplied - (Nm) - Actual torque applied to transmission
